The http://buddypress.org/extend/themes/ page says:

Themes: Working on this soon. Apologies for the delay while we rebuild the bits and bobs

It would be more helpful if this page could reference http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/tags/buddypress while its being rebuilt.

My point is it gives the reader more info about how to get buddypress compatible themes (from this link I was able to download and try out 5 buddypress themes from this link).

The current buddypress.org themes page gives no info.

Almost any theme is BuddyPress compatibly so singling out a few themes isn’t required.
