Buddypress permalinks breaking my jQuery

I have jQuery to update parts of my website…. I have installed buddypress and the permalinks get set to Numeric…
Now my jQuery does not work. If I turn the permalinks back to default – my jQuery works again and the parts of my webpage are updated again… but this breaks the buddypress pages
