Buddypress visibility options

    WP – 3.5.1
    Buddypress – 1.6.4

As several people have pointed out, when users select “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” all of their blog activity is hidden from the activity stream, blog list, etc. Is there a way to allow users to show this activity and blog only to logged in users?

I’ve read through the trac below and have read @hnla other post on the issue:

    https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/4831

Instead of just Private or Public for Buddypress, can I not make it accessible only to the network while also allowing some users to keep their blog and activity public?

Here’s what I mean – three option levels for my buddypress network –

    1. Public (already exists)
    2. Logged in users of the network only – anyone that is a registered user of Innovate UH can gain access.
    3. Private (already exists in a pseudo way)

I can provide the network with real privacy levels for their individual blogs so that’s not the issue. It’s that #2 that I really need. About half of the users at my university don’t want their activity public but do want the network to access it.

Maybe I’m overlooking something. Thanks for your help!

    Best,
    Nathan
