Buddypress will not print enqueued scripts and styles from NG Gallery

I am running the latest 3.3.x WordPress and Buddypress 1.5.5 on a shared LAMP server using the Responsive theme with BP Compatibility Plugin. I have been working on a plugin to integrate NEXTGEN Gallery and Buddypress (adds galleries to user profile). My problem is that on Buddypress pages, the scripts and stylesheets are not appearing in the “. I have tried enqueuing and using `wp_head` in my plugin to no avail. The only thing that seems to work for me is using a separate plugin that uses `wp_head`.
Does anyone have any idea as to why Buddypress is not printing the styles and scripts to the “ and how (or if) I can address this in my code?
