Can blog avatars and blog comment avatars be taken from BP avatars and author info go to their bp pa

When a user starts their own blog using the MU portion of BP, can they’re avatars cross over to their blog so that they don’t need to upload a new avatar again? If so how? Currently on a little test site of mine when a new user starts a new group and gets a blog, they’re avatar does not work on thier blog, instead it goes back to a random bp avatar….
P.S. edit: I’m sure this is kinda a dumb question <
