can i place advertising on my buddypress site ?

i want to display ads in near future on my site the ads should be viewed on the right section which small picture and lite discription just like fb ….so can i do that …if yes than how ?

You just need the HTML code for the image. You then add a Text widget to the Sidebar of your website and copy the HTML to there.
