Can the Buddypress homepage just be a username/password page?

  • Is it possible to have a buddypress as private?

If so, how do i create the social network to be completely private? in otherwords, the homepage will have a log in / password spot and a sign up area that will require an email responder based on an approval process, and thats it. Once we have approved the user, they can log in and it opens up the network.

    Thanks,

The main (home) page would have to use a customized theme that is simply a splash page (spalsh screen) that gives basic information about your site and a place to login and sign up.

Once a user has logged in, it would then go to the BuddyPress home page–which you could also customize if you want.

Read this thread for how to Secure components from non logged in users.

actually you can create a login page in 1.2.1 and have your site private….. once they pass credentials, they will be allowed inside.

You could try this WordPress plug-in…’wp-members. Works for me.
