Can we create groups based on places?

We’re creating a new BuddyPress site that will have Groups focused on particular communities. So, when the first Chicago-based user chooses Chicago as their location (from the drop-down of U.S. cities), is there a way to get BuddyPress to automatically create a new Group for Chicago? After that, anyone choosing Chicago from the drop-down would be added to that Group.
