cannot active buddypress plugin

    when i click to activate it gives me this error

    Error 500 – Internal server error

    An internal server error has occured!

    what flavor wordpress and what setup on your server?

    a 500 error is generic and it could mean that you have other issues with your host. Wanna share the url or host? try deactivating all other plugins first and try again. I take it that your site is returning after this error?

    Hi there,

    I’m getting the same error when I try to activate buddypress.

    Buddypress 1.2 RC2

    Wordpress 2.9.1 (not MC)

    mySQL 5.0

    hosting is done by 1and1.com

    I’d appreciate any help you can offer…

    Ah hah!! I figgered it out myself.

    Had to update to PHP 5 by adding “AddType x-mapp-php5 .php” to the .htaccess file at the root of the install.

    Voilå!

    nice work, ;) that’s an odd fix since bp is only dependent on php 4.3..?
