Silly question… did you deactivate BuddyPress before removing the DB entries and deleting the plugin folder?
Also did you change your theme? Do you have some type of caching plugin installed (eg. WP Super Cache, object cache)?
Yep. I always make sure to deactivate first. I did that.. and yes, I have wp super cache.. but checked to verify that there are no cached pages. Makes no sense… quite confused here.
and yes.. i changed the theme to the buddy press default theme.. and then back to mine.

Anyone have any ideas? Unfortunately, I was using wordpressbackup as my backup device and they decided to only allow one wordpress site p/ account and deleted the other sites without any notification. When I logged in to restore, I found out this wonderful treat. Terrible way to do business.
Re: dropdown… are you talking about that lightbox thingy?
That doesn’t seem to be BuddyPress-related.
Also, I would try deactivating WP Super Cache and deleting any cached items you may have.
You led me to the solution. I hadn’t really thought of it as a lightbox … but more of a flash menu. After you said that, I tried deactivating my wp super cache.. same result.. and then my ‘Lightbox 2’ plugin. Voila! I had forgot that in the midst of playing with BuddyPress, I had updated 2 or 3 plugins… that being one of them.
All is well again. Thx for the tip!
I’ve marked this as resolved
