Categories show in IE but not FireFox…

So I went into the header.php and literally just took out the “Categories” tab because I don’t need it at all, which works fine in: Firefox / Chrome / Safari : but does not work in Internet Explorer, for some reason the sub categories still show up when you hover over a tab like in the images below….
