Change default activity type in the groups

Hi everybody. I am updating my BP network and my users want it very much, please help.
How can i change default activity filters only in the groups from “Show all” tо “show updates”?
This http://buddypress.org/support/topic/show-updates-as-default-in-activity/ is not help me and broke my site. I am using BP 1.6.3.
