change the style of activity posts?

currently the posts have a time signature on top, an the update below.
how do you change this so that the update shows up right next to the member name/avatar with the time stamp below?
also, can i get ride of the ‘**** posted an update’ bit of text….seems redundant since its obviosly an update?
