Change url slug

Hello,
I have a question about the group types directory
the current url is the following:
https://www.testpage.com/groups/Typ/grouptype/the problem is this:
I have to capitalize the “T” of “Typ” in the URL, otherwise the page cannot be openedwhat can be the reason?
further question:
how can i change the url slug? from “type” to “type” or even remove it completely? so the url would look like this:testpage.com/groups/grouptype
Can anyone help me?
