Classified-esque jobs widget/plugin

I am creating a site based about open source hardware/Making. I would like to have a plugin/widget that would allow people to post position/jobs/skills that they need/have for specific projects.
What would be the best way to get started on this? I was think of hacking the site activity widget but I am a bit unsure.
