Collection Tracker

I’m wanting to know if anyone has created something like a social catalog (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_cataloging_application) type plugin in Buddypress.
Something like Goodreads or Cigargeeks where users can see a main database of items and add those items to a personal collection. They could create multiple lists to keep track of a collection.
I’d love to see this and implement it in websites.
