No you can’t.
Activity comments are not forum discussions. They have not the same post type and are not stored in the same DB table.
If you have a very active forum, it would be preferable that you deactivate the activity commenting for forum activities.
In the same way, for example if your members often use the group notices to discuss instead of the group forum, you can remove the post-form template from the group to avoid this.
Is it possible to write a function that could migrate what’s already been posted? I’d hate to lose the information that members worked so hard to write. It disappears when the comment feature is turned off in settings.
I’m not good at inventing code, so just want to get a quick understanding of this is possible and where I would start. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s run into this, but couldn’t find much when I searched.

Hi,
Users are commenting on forum topics from the activity stream but their comments aren’t showing up as topic replies in the forum. This makes the forum look dead even though members are discussing the topics in the activity stream. I now see I can disable the commenting function in settings (although I like that they have this ability and wish their comments would just sync to the forum).
However my question is, is there a way for me to transfer comments the users have already made to the forum topics retroactively and then turn off the comment ability so this won’t happen in the future?
Thank you.
