Completely hide groups from each other

I’m experimenting with WP v3.7.1 and BP v1.8 on a local computer (so no site link – sorry).
I’m trying to create a service request tracking system that would depend on groups, their members and their members’ posts being completely invisible to each other.
Two issues I have come across so far are:
- Members are visible to each other even if their groups are hidden
- Posts and custom post types created by members are visible to members of other groups in the admin
Is it possible to get the kind of isolation I am looking for?
If so, I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction, as I am not very familiar with buddypress.
