Compose message link or button

Hello,
On event page, I need to add a button that link to compose message so event’s organizer can invite others users to his event.
After looking for hours on the web, i’ve found this old topic but it seems that the code shown in is not good anymore as i get a white page when copying it in my fuction.php child theme.
Is there someone that could help me with this issue ?
