Create a Group – Group Invites > no email notification

When creating a new group, members are invited but no email is generated an no notification appears in the admin bar. After the group is created, viewing the ‘Send Invites’ tab shows everyone that was invited with a check next to their name and they are listed with their avatar, name and option to Remove Invite (these members have no knowledge of this active invite and no way to accept the invite).

I can select the ‘Send Invite’ button and everyone in the remove invite list are sent an email and are notified in the admin bar. Any idea as to why the Email and Notification aren’t generated during the creation of a group?

Hmmm… in an attempt to trigger the group invite during group creation, I installed/activated the invite-anyone plugin. Surprisingly it fixed the issue – Group Invites are sent when creating a new group. I deactivated the invite-anyone plugin and again group invites aren’t send during group creation.

Good news – I have a temporary fix! Any idea as to what is wacky with my install that this plugin fixes?
