Create Group function

I currently cannot seem to get the create group function to work. I have the Group component set to a page via the BP settings, but when I click on the create group link (or try through admin backend) I get a 404 not found error. Am I doing something wrong?

WP 4.5.2 (i-max theme), BP 2.5.2
(Site is not live – under construction)

Have you set up the permalinks to another option than default ?

Navigation Links Return 404 Errors

Yup! I am using the post name style permalinks…and did refresh those as well. I know you cannot view this but..when I try to load http://mysite.net/community/groups/create/
is when I get the 404.

I have the groups page set to a child-item of another page, could this cause the problem?

Most probably. The page for group should not be associated with anything. Give just a title. If you need a specific template, see how to overload templates on codex.

That was it! Set to no parent and create group functions now. Rather annoying that It can’t be a sub-page though as I wanted it to be nested in a “community” section of sorts. Is this totally not possible with the current BP version?

Do you mean a sub-group ? There is a plugin for that: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/warnings-with-bp25 (not updated, but is still working) – see the support if you have an issue.
