Daily Digest group email received in html form

Hello. Not sure if this is a BP problem, a WP problem or something else, but here goes. Since the recent wp update, all group daily digest emails have been received twice and in the form of HTML rather than in a normal readable text.
My website has a custom theme and has recently just set up Elasticemail plugin to cope with the amount of group emails leaving the website because of the hourly limit on the server host. However, for one day only it (Daily Digest) reverted back to normal but not sure why or how. I am now beginning to receive emails from members reporting that they too are receiving messages in html.WP update and ElasticeEmail plugin were completed on the same day. So, as I say, I’m not sure where the problem lies.
Any help is very much appreciated.
