I’ve read a few posts about this subject and I still don’t quite understand.

I am using the current versions of MU and Buddypress.

As the title says all I would like is for the members blog theme to be the default buddy press theme. When i try this I just get the default theme with three widgets, I want it similar to the “blog” page or admins blog where there is only 1 widget bar to the side. I’ve read about making child themes and just copying over from bp-sn-parent, I guess I am just not sure what to copy or if I am heading in the right direction, any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
