Default Country List Profile Does not Work

  • @thebigk

    Hi,

While creating a ‘Country’ field in profile, I used the pre-defined field. It worked great on my local setup. However, when I created a ‘Country’ profile field on the server, it shows empty list. I checked the profile field creation page and no data appears there too.

I checked out the file that is used to populate the country fields. However things aren’t working very well.

    How can I fix this?

Update: I get this error when I try to set the predefined ‘Country’ field using following options:

    Name: Permanent Address: Country

    Type: Drop Down Select Box

Error: Warning: Wrong parameter count for fgetcsv() in

    <path> /wp-content/mu-plugins/bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-classes.php on line 286

    How to fix this?

    Meh!

Solved it myself. This error occurs when you’re using PHP 4. Shift to PHP5 and everything works great :)

I think WordPress requires PHP4. This function needing PHP5 to work as-is is probably considered a BP “bug”? Anyone else comment?

Hard to say, but I’ve had bad luck making BuddyPress work on php4 since I started using it.

By “bad,” I guess I mean “no.” Haha!
