Display a group’s name, description, etc based on group ID?

Hi, I’m using WP 3.1.3 and BP 1.2.8 with a child version of the default theme.

I want to list my groups in a set order, with no option for searching or sorting (users will not be making new groups). I can list the groups with HTML, but I want to use PHP to retrieve the info for each group (name, description, etc) in case an admin changes any of it.

Is there a function that would accept a group ID and spit out the group’s name? If not, could anyone advise me on how to write one?

Somehow I missed that on my first search. Sorry! If anyone else wants to know how to do this, it’s all spelled out at the bottom of that page.
