Display user avatar on integrated bbpress?

I’ve integrated my WMPU/Buddypress install with bbpress (using theeasybutton.com’s tutorial) and everything is working fine except I can’t get the user avatar from buddypress/wpmu to appear on the forum. We didn’t use buddypress’s forum component because we already had the forums for a while and wanted to have it separated from groups…
Does anyone know how to do it?
