Could someone please tell me if buddypress allows for an administrator to be able to edit members profiles???

We have a client that wants this functionality?

The only way I know to do this, is to log in as an administrator, and then visit the member’s profile edit url (/members/username/profile/edit). You can then edit the fields.

Admittedly, this is clunky. I was toying with the idea of writing a plugin to make this easier, but I’ve also heard talk that this may be addresed in 1.3. Someone else might know more.

If you’re a site admininstrator, there should also be a menu called “Admin Options” when you’re on any profile.

In this menu, there are links to edit a user’s profile and avatar, marking the account as spam and deleting the account.

This is Brilliant thanks for the quick reply guys.

Also my client would like each member to upload pdf and word documents to their members profile is their a plugin to do this i have searched and searched but cant seem to find any.

bp group documents: this doesn’t work for me as i need to to be on individuals profiles not groups.

The only other one i found was bp-kaltura-plugin this also isn’t good for me as it requires subscription to their site, and it is for images and video not documents.

This is quite a big requirement for the client and before i submit the tender i would like to know if this is possible??

    Thanks

There’s a paid plugin by Buddydev.com called BP-Gallery, which would work on individual profiles.

It accepts video and audio, not so sure about PDFs and Word Docs… you could contact Brajesh on his site and ask him for such a feature.

The Group Documents plugin could be forked pretty easily to become user documents. I mean, you gotta know PHP, and you’d have to change a bunch of stuff, but the changes would be pretty straightforward.

Alternately, you could probably just extend the plugin as is with a few well-placed action hooks. It already records the user uploading the document. All you would really have to do is change the menu to show up on the user page, and feed it a dummy group id. There may be other hitches, but there’s probably enough shared code to justify consideration.

I relay need the functionality to allow users to upload documents to their profile to. I’ve been-trying to modify the Group Documents plugging, but unfortunately I don’t have enough wordpress/buddypress/php knowlage to do so. Is their a way I can hire someone to write the plugin for me?
