Editing the text in the buddybar?

How would I edit the “Friends” text in the Buddybar? I have updated the .PO file and tried setting the:
$bp->bp_nav = ‘Colleagues’;
But apparently this text is hardcoded or doesn’t respect either of these changes. If I can’t do it with a hook, where does the file for the bar reside, please?
