Hi @aubreyw – The email should show up immediately. If it’s not, the places you should check are:
1. Is any email being sent from your server? For example, do BP emails (like private message notifications) show up? How about other WP notifications, like a password reset?
2. Check your spam folders (which it sounds like you’ve already done)
It’s possible to manually trigger the activation of a changed email address, but it sounds like the more fundamental problem here is that emails aren’t working properly, so it seems better to try to address that problem first.
Hi @boonebgorges. After reading your response, I set up a test member account on my site, and I did not receive any email notification that a new member had joined my site. From the test member account, I also sent an invite for a non-member to join my site, and my non-member email address never received the invitation. So it would seem that no WP/BP emails are going through. Does that give you any better clue as to what the problem might be?
I’ve been reading around online and saw something that says my hosting server needs to be set up with SMTP for email to work. I have not set up any specific email settings in my Fastcomet hosting cpanel. My email addresses are set up independently through Godaddy, which I access through Outlook 365 website. Could that be the problem?
Sorry, I’m very new to all this WP/BP stuff, and I’m not super savvy with hosting and cpanels either. I learn as I go. I’d appreciate any additional help getting my email to work.
I spoke too soon – I did get the invite email, but still no email notifying me that a new member joined my site.
