Email notifications when no group

I’m having an issue I can’t seem to solve with my BuddyPress instance.
PROBLEM: I’d like contributors to receive an email when anyone post to their blog. I don’t have groups on because I want the site to be one single group where all the members can contribute.
I also have the site configured so that when an individual posts a blog post it displays on the main site page.
What am I missing?
