Error: This webpage has a redirect loop – after updating from 1.5.2 to 1.6.x

I tried to upgrade to the latest buddypress version from 1.5.2 but keep running into this problem. After updating and going through the update wizard, when I try to go to a group page, it’ll return a Redirect Loop Error (URL turns into /groups/groupname////////////////////// from /groups/groupname/ )
I am testing this on a staging server. You can see it here:
