Facebook to BuddyPress… my members want notifications of friend’s activities. Possible?

I am moving a large group of people from Facebook to BuddyPress. Some are asking if they can be notified via email with all their friend’s activities.
Is it possible to have all activity done by people on your friend list sent to you via email?
Is it possible to have newly created forums sent to everyone?
