Favourite Posts in WPMU / BuddyPress

    Hi all,

I’m testing a WPMU and BuddyPress installation and would like someway of allowing users to have a “favourite” links page. These would be presented on a single page, but allow the links to link to any post/page on the primary blogs or any sub-blogs.

I’ve tried some favourite post plug-ins already but they seem to only allow linking to posts on the primary blog and if I try to favourite a post on a members blog I’ve run into problems. I think this is due to the favourite post plug-ins, that I have tried, referencing blog IDs and maybe not user or blog IDs?

Has anyone done something similar or could you point me in the direction of a plug-in that may do what I need?

    Many thanks!

@jamieea – you might want to check this one out:

    http://www.dnxpert.com/2010/06/11/mark-blog-post-as-favorite-in-buddypress/

For it to work, you’ll need to have control over the themes being used for the member blogs (as it requires some code adding to single.php to create the favourite / unfavourite button.

Possible thoughts on enhancing this into something really special, borrowing ideas from del.icio.us: creating and sharing lists of favourites, annotating them with notes, and perhaps even allowing for links from outside the site to be added.

This plugin does a lot of what you are after as well, although it was designed for external links: https://buddypress.org/community/groups/buddypress-links/

It requires you to type in a URL from the links page. It would be nice it if had a “pop up” form / button, that you could attach to posts throughout your site.
