I’ve posted a new plugin at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypressbbpress-email-notification/

“Extend the features of a BuddyPress and bbPress installation. When a new topic is created in a BuddyPress Group, all members of the group will receive an email notification about the new topic. When new replies are added to the topic, anyone who has posted in that topic will receive an email to notify them about the new post.”

My version allows a bit more user control (opting out of specific discussions or entire groups) by using bbPress’s native Favorites function. I wonder if there’s some way you and I can combine forces

Yes, I’d love to team up on this Boone Gorges. That’s the type of functionality I plan to add to the next versions.
