I have buddypress and forum installed correctly. I translated it to Arabic and all posts in activity and blog shows correctly in arabic except the forum post, it shows in question marks if you browse in the forum. I made sure already to set the database to utf8 in the installation..

Can anyone explain to me what may cause this? thanks in advance

ok I solved it by changing the collation on the forums tables to utf_general_ci.. but I don’t know why the forum is installed with the Latin collation instead of utf in the first place!
