background:

I run my own servers, and have a number of wpmu/bp installs going already with no issues, so the environment seems to work just fine.

I installed a fresh version of wpmu and bp last night, and then upgraded bp a few minutes ago as I saw a new version released.

problem:

When I go into the forums and try to make a fresh post, I am able to do everything as expected, but the post never shows up.

checking the server logs I have a bunch of:

mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use ‘RewriteOptions MaxRedirects’ to increase the limit if neccessary.

I triple checked my .htaccess and file permissions, everything is identical to every other working install on this server.

anyone have any ideas?
