So, I’ve noticed what I think is an odd behavior and I can not track down the place to fix it.

If you look at the navigation in groups, there is a main nav element (#object-nav) and a sub nav element (#subnav) as seen here:

However, when you click on the group forum, it appears that system messages are designed to appear between the main nav & subnav, as seen here:

It would make more sense to have the system messages appear in the content area. I believe this only happens in the forum component. It has occurred to me that this is an intentional design and, what I think is a subnav is actually intended to be the forum footer. In any case, I would like to treat it like a submenu of #object-nav, but can not find a clean way to do it while maintaining all changes in my theme, and thus avoiding a core hack.

Am I missing something simple? Sanity check please.
