Group forums meta data

    Hi there

Is it possible to get meta title, description and keywords working for the forum topics?

To have the topic title as the page tittle, the topic first post as the meta description and the tags as the keyword would be ideal and really boost the seo of the forum posts.

As this data is all already there is there any way to get it displaying as meta data?

thanks a lot for any help!!

I’m using WPMU 2.7.1 BP 1.0.1 and BBPress 1.0-alpha-6 and BP default theme

Since this relates to bbPress specifically, I would ask this question in the bbPress forum.

To have the topic title as the page tittle, the topic first post as the meta description and the tags as the keyword would be ideal and really boost the seo of the forum posts.

You should first focus on all the other things that have the greatest SEO impact (like creating quality content).

Since you cannot control the content of your forums–it is generated by all your users after all–I think the best SEO booster for bbPress was just implemented by Sam. See this link: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/buddypress-forums-now-use-pretty-permalinks

    Hey cozzie,

For bbPress meta keywords / description, I use a modified version of a bbPress plugin called SEO Tools:

Oh, and be sure to set the topic to “resolved” if your question has been answered.

Thanks a lot r-a-y. Not sure why but I can’t open that website, it redirects to http://www.proxyhosting.nl/redir.html. Is there anywhere else I can find the modified plugin?

    Cheers!

Just to update: I got the plugin from r-a-y, it works great on bbpress but not on buddypress. It seems meta data for buddypress forums is yet to come
