Group Moderators are unable to modify anything within their Group

From what I have read, Group Mod’s should have the ability to:
1. Edit group details, including the group name and group description
2. Edit, close, and delete any forum topic or post in the group
3. Edit and delete other kinds of content, as produced by certain plugins (eg Group Documents).When logged in as a Group Mod for a specific group, the ‘Admin’ tab appears, however when clicking on it I get the error message: “You are not an admin of this group.” Since the Admin tab appears, Buddypress is recognizing that the logged in user is a Group Mod, however they should have access to some of the Admin capabilities.
I am using Buddypress 1.6.1 and WordPress 3.4.2. Please let me know if anyone has run into a solution for this.
