Group Wire Pagination get wrong base url

there seems to be something wrong with the pagination on the groups/wire page
the base url of the links seems to be missing, it comes down to the wpmu function add_query_arg() in functions.php where it determins it has no need of it, though it is not clear to me why not,
at first I thought it might be the three parameters, but then the problem should have occurred on other pages(such as the group memeber pages)
