Hi, we would like to migrate forums from BP to bbPress
now that bbPress 2.2 is out, it is possible with BP 1.6? or do we have to wait for BP 1.7?

in WP Tools> Forum > Import Forums
I do not see BP as an option in select platform.
if it is possible to import BP into BBpress. which option do I choose?

It should be possible with 1.6. You’ll need to remember to turn off the “Forums” component in BuddyPress (wp-admin > Settings > BuddyPress). I am not totally sure of the steps to do the migration; I’ll ask JJJ if this has been documented.

* Backup your database (you may need to restore if migration fails)
* Disable BuddyPress’s Forums component
* Tools > Forums > Import
* Choose bbPress1
* Run the converter
* Visit Tools > Forums
* Run all of the repair tools (most likely one at a time)
* Visit Settings > Forums
* Make sure “Enable Group Forums” is checked
* Make sure the BuddyPress root forum is correct
* Done

because it was on a test server I had wrong name of the database, but your instructions made it clear and it started converting

So just to be clear we should be ignoring the warning on that screen that says:

‘Using the Forum Root is not recommended. Changing this does not move existing forums.’
