Setup members and groups

Honestly I am 68 years young and have NO CLUE what I am doing regarding BuddyPress. I just installed it and have latest version of WordPress running. The site is SpyCraftU. As you will see I already have Members and Groups headings. I need to know how people add themselves as Members and how to set up Groups.

Guys where is the Getting Started Page? I would really like a KISS PDF file if that exists!

When you mention Mac problems does that also apply to setting up on my iPod Touch with Safari?
