Help w/ creating a custom menu for a BP_default child theme

Can anyone point me in the right direction to create a custom nav menu for a child theme of BP_Default? I’ve tried following the guide here http://www.michaelkuhlmann.com/2010/07/08/how-to-add-custom-menus/ but I don’t think it works w/ default theme as the base.

I’ve searched around and that link seems to be the main source of information. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You could download one of the BuddyPress 1.5 beta releases and either use that, or check to see how we’ve updated it to work with custom menus.
