Is there an easy way to hide the admin’s activity?

I have tried BuddyPress Ninja, and it’s outdated and doesn’t work.
I have tried putting the stealth mode code into bp-custom.php:

…and that doesn’t work.

I have searched and found many “solutions”, but in the comments for the codes, are nothing but negative reports.
