Homepage Pagination and BuddyPress Rewriting URLs

I’m having a problem on the site angryjoeshow.com you can see at the bottom I’m using a query that works on all other pages but with this home page Buddypress strips out the /page/ part of the URL and what ends up happening is instead of going to page 2 it goes to site.com/2/ and gives me a 404 error (or in the case of that site a page made for an image called 2).
If I disable BuddyPress it works again, if I set permalinks to default it works (?paged=x) but anything other than the default and I’m having this problem. Any ideas?
