How do I alter the markup for the Name (required) label and input field?

How do I alter the markup for the Name (required) label and input field, more specifically, the one located on the Registration page?
I want to be able to add a class to the label as well as remove the “(required)” text.
I also want to be able to add a placeholder attribute to the input field that is dynamically populated by the profile field name (in this case Name).
How can all this be done while only altering files found within a child theme? Is it possible?
WordPress 4.0, most recent BuddyPress, and my site is currently local.
