How do I change member/admin path user name ?

I recently had a Terrible Hack Attack and lost 4000 member blogs on 14 MU sites ! I had no choice but to change the site admin user name in my SQ.

So now buddy press is working for all…. but member/admin as I don’t know where to change the Path ? to new admin login name. I can’t find it in ” mySQL ” and I hate to have to but, I think the path will have to be changed by hand to keep it all safe :)

I Love buddy Press but this is a big security risk 4 all, Because what it does do with all “members/admin” links is, send them to the home MU Index of site ? It is Like announcing Hay This is the site admin account to any wood be Hacker ! it won’t go to the social area for the admin at all !! ( and the name admin is shown in the status bar and such ! so 1 + 1 = admin user account knowledge see what I mean ?? All other members are able to access their respective social admins :) and are working fine :) ?

I have read all the other related posts here I can find and some came close but they didn’t work for me so far Please Help.

This is nothing to do with BuddyPress, hackers can just try logging in as admin on your login form and find the same thing.

Number one thing to do when you first install WordPress is to change the admin account to something else. WordPress 3.0 will allow you to change this when you first install.

You can edit the admin username in your database in the wp_users table. Change the user_login and user_nicename value.

Is there somewhere in the core (I am still scared of the core code :) but is there a place in it to change it maybe ??

If you mean the activity, then your correct, activity is stored in the database as full html/text to reduce query’s. So the admin link won’t change in there unless you edit it in the database.
