How many days/hours did it take to create your plugin?

Calling all the current buddypress plugin developers!

For those who aren’t familiar with coding, writing plugins, or paying someone to write one, it’s always a big concern to estimate how much time it would take, and how much would it be to pay to the developer.

Since we can’t discuss on “how much money” as rates are different. At least we could hear “approx. how many days did it take” to create your plugin (from simple to complex).

So approx. how many days did it take to write your buddypress plugin?

It depends: from 1 day to several weeks.

1 day (or even some hours) – just filtering something, slightly changing end results in the case filters are built in.

More time needed to create smth taht will help to filter.

Several weeks – new component creation. But BuddyPress 1.1 is needed.

Welcome Pack took me about a month (of weekends and occasional evenings).

Achievements took me about three months. That time includes learning WordPress/BuddyPress frameworks.
