How to avoid BG color switch within a message

I have a fresh install of WP 4.4.1 with buddypress 2.4.3 and theme Raindrops 1.344 (dark scheme). All seems to work fine so far, but there is one thing. Within a Message i.e. a received PM buddypress uses different BG colors for sender and receiver text.
In my case i can perfectly see what i wrote (white text with black bg) but the answer is nearly invisible (very light grey text on nearly white bg).
So how to tell buddypress always to take the default colors of the theme?
On other places where a nearly white bg is used (i.e. compose field) all works fine cause a darker text color is used. This can also point to a style problem that the text color within a message is not adjusted correct when the bg color wihtin a message changes.
