How to change email activation link or is there alternative?

Hi, by default when user register on my site , they will receive an email with a link to click on it to activate their account. I realised the link contain “buddypress” word, is it possible to edit the link without “buddypress” word?
Is there alternative way for user to activate their account? like perhap using code to activate their account etc?
